Charlie's Van

If you know me or my family, chances are you know our Charlie. Charlie's life is a true testament to the power of prayer, proof that miracles do happen & that with God, all things are possible. For those of you that don't know Charlie, he is my little brother and my hero. At age 5, Charlie was struck with meningococcal meningitis. As a result of the illness and after beating the odds by simply being here, Charlie is a quadruple amputee, kidney transplant recipient & heart attack survivor. Above all else, he is the kindest man I know with an unshakeable faith and strength. Through all of this, Charlie has remained humble. He graduated high school, attended MTSU & has worked his way up from a Door Greeter to Assistant Mgr with Wal-Mart.

Tuesday night while driving home from work, Charlie was in a car accident. THANK YOU GOD, Charlie is okay but his van is not. Ten years ago, Charlie purchased a van, complete with all of the conversions necessary for him to drive. This van has offered Charlie an enormous amount of independence. Unfortunately, the van was totalled making it necessary for him to purchase another vehicle. The conversions alone were around $50k not including the price of the vehicle. Charlie would never and has never thought to ask for help. As his big sister, I feel the need to do everything I can to help him get back in a van. If you feel called to give, there is no greater cause. If you aren't able to, prayers are appreciated as well as God has always provided!
