Krazy for Kristian!!!

On March 17, Kristian Leitzen suffered a major stroke at 7:45pm while playing hockey with his team at the Cedar Rapids Ice Arena . It was witnessed and he was taken to a hospital to start a clot buster. He was airlifted to the University of Iowa; most of the clot was removed in surgery.

He maintains eye contact with Lynnde and track with his eyes. He said a couple of words but it is very difficult to understand. Don't worry, when Lynnde gives him grief, he shakes his head and rolls his eyes   :)

It is a waiting game to see how he does these next few days; a week or more to see the extent of damage. Lynnde's parents are figuring out the kids and she plans to stay at his bedside for a while . Thank you in advance for your thoughts and kind gestures as they know this will be a long journey. As Lynnde says "he's too stubborn to leave us. Too much to live for. We got this."

We set this up as people have asked "how can we help?" or "Can I send flowers?"  Really what is needed right now, in addition to your prayers, is anything that will make this easier to get through: gas cards, restaurant and UIHC food gift cards.  Anything that can keep Lynnde and Kristian from worrying and help them to focus on the task at hand: healing.
