Note: things are getting desperate, the mortgage company is demanding $2,295.00 by the 15th of August.
I'm Terry. I'm a disabled vet living on a fixed income. I'm considered unemployable and not able to get a job. Along with myself, the family consists of my wife, two sons, a dog, a cat, and two rabbits. For info, I'm exceptionally honest with my wife, but she isn't aware of this and I'd prefer (if you know both me and her) that you don't let her know. She is already under a tremendous amount of stress and this would hit her extremely hard.
I am currently in danger of having my utilities cut off, and losing my house. I also need to ensure that I can take care of the family and pets until I get my benefits at the beginning of the month.
I had some large medical (that were not covered by the VA or CHAMPVA) and other bills recently, and because of those my budget was totally shot. I ended up missing my mortgage payment in March. In an attempt to make back the money, I made some investments using April's benefits. I thought I was being safe. I invested in two different things, one of which I had been experimenting with for two months (with small amounts of money) and having good luck with. The other had been in operation for about 480 days and had positive reviews everywhere I looked. In mid-April, as I was getting ready to withdraw my money to pay the mortgage for March and April, BOTH investments scammed out within a day of each other. To make ends meet in April and ever since, I have been using the the overdraft protection on my checking account to pay for food and gas, with the $33 charge per incident, that adds up, taking a huge bite out of my benefits for the ensuing months, making the situation much worse.
The money will be used to buy food for the family and pets, gas to get our family around, pay the mortgage (2 months are due now, at $1091 per month (it was cheaper, but they've accidentally started putting property taxes into my escrow account again)) and pay the utilities, which are coming up this week (all bills are due between the 15th and the 18th of the month).
I need to get these things taken care of immediately. Especially the utilities - it will be hard to buffer my wife if the power and water go out.
I appreciate any help that you can give so very much. I'm in a really bad spot right now and need all of the help that I can get to dig out of if. I really need to raise about $5,000 to pay things off, but right now I'm trying not to lose the house and feed my family. This really is a one time thing. I've been working since was very young, and always pay my bills on time. Once this current situation is taken care of, I'll be back to paying everything on time and assisting others.
For information, I screen print tees, tote bags and onesies here at home. I use it to bring in a little extra income to supplement my disability, but there haven't been a lot of sales recently.
