BOISE TIMBERS | THORNS SOCCER CLUB
The Boise Thorns U15 girls’ soccer team advances to the US Youth Soccer National Championship series set for July 23 to 28 in Overland Park, Kansas. Despite a tough battle against Utah’s U15 Celtic FC team during the Far West Regional tournament this past week in Boise, the Thorns were able to make history by receiving a berth to the National Championships. This is just the third team in Idaho history to qualify for the US Youth Soccer Championship series, and the first team in the newly merged Boise Timbers | Thorns SC organization.
The U15 Boise Thorns team has won back-to-back state championships, qualified for the ECNL (Elite Club National League) and has traveled to compete against teams in Washington, South Carolina, Colorado, Arizona, Utah, and California. This team has grit, perseverance, a strong work ethic, and a love for the game of soccer.
Boise Timbers | Thorns SC (BTT) is a top family-oriented youth soccer club in Idaho, providing quality coaching that emphasizes education, character, and innovation. Our goals are to inspire our players to be the best they can be so they can “Leave a Legacy” and achieve academic success. We recently graduated 63 seniors and 94% of them are attending college this fall. Idaho’s high school graduation rate is about 80% with an average of 44% going on to college. Our club emphasizes a college education through our extensive College Advisory Program, and our graduation rate is a testimony to how important academic success is to us and our players. After graduation, we encourage our players to have an active role in our community by serving on alumni boards, and being mentors, coaches, and strong role models for the youth in our valley. We believe that there is “no better investment than in the youth of our community.”
BTT is asking for your help in supporting our U15 Boise Thorns Girls continue their soccer journey to the National Championship series in Kansas in July. “The US Youth Soccer National Championships Series is the country's most prestigious national youth soccer tournament.” Your financial support will give our players an opportunity to grow as athletes and be seen by the nation's top collegiate coaches. Over 600 coaches attended the US Youth Soccer Regional and National Championship events the last few years, and this venue is the premier stage for our players to be identified as prospective collegiate athletes with scholarship opportunities.
We are hoping that we can count on your help this year with an in-kind donation. The total cost to attend the National Championships is about $34,000 with airfare. The per player expense is approximately $2000. Since this team travels in 3 weeks to Kansas, it does not give us enough time to fundraise so any financial help that you can provide would be greatly appreciated.
