Kopper..........He is Keeper!

Kopper is a German Shepherd who has been beaten down by life. At 7 years old, we found him starved, emaciated, and with a host of medical issues, including an untreated leg and hip trauma- possibly from a car accident, heartworms, hookworms, whipworms, bacterial and fungal infections, and an unknown growth on his back end that we pray is not cancer. We are committed to rescuing him, but he will need significant veterinary care, including surgery. We ask for your help in this monumental task. Despite Kopper's tragic circumstances, this boy has shown no aggression, and seems to be in love with his caretakers. We know not everyone can foster a very sick dog like this, but we hope you will take this opportunity to help him in another way, with your kind and generous donations. Thank you.+ Read More

Kopper sends his gratitude and kisses t0 everyone who has donated towards his medical needs. Kopper is really enjoying meal times and is beginning to gain some much needed weight (we should have called him Hopper because he hops like crazy at the smell of food). His skin and hair are beginning to improve with his medicated baths which has kept him from chewing and scratching at his itchy skin. He actually enjoys his bath time and having his body massaged and clean. He is so good natured and the sweetest boy ever. It is so lovely to see his eyes lighten up when you call his name and give him pets, he just buries his head deep into your lap and never wants you to stop loving him. Kopper is going to make some lucky family an awesome companion when he recovers. Once he completes the next couple months of medication we are hopeful he will be healthy enough to begin his next plan of care which will be heartworm treatment.
