House Fire Campaign

HOUSE FIRE

On the 27th of April through the evening the smoke detectors rang loud and woke the residents of 16 Naughton Road Koonoomoo. The fire was alight and the single mom and kids had minutes to escape the house. This house was rented out to my Sister in law Dezley and her 5 kids, they had not long moved in and had just finished settling and making this their home.

Sadly due to natural causes within the house structure the house is now as you can see lost. Thankfully they did escape and the single mom and her 5 kids all are safe. Unfortunately the rented house is now gone and along with it all of their possessions, memories and everything they owned.

They escaped in their pj's and have their lives which is what matters most. So many people have asked us if there was a gofund me page so they could donate some money to help this uninsured woman and her 5 children get started again and rebuild their lives so here it is.

Dezley is a single mum with 5 kids. Shanelle 16, Joel 14, Erika 9, Dean 7 and Ann-Marie 5 years old. 3 of her kids are special needs and attend Cobram Special School while the remaining 2 go to Cobram Primary School.

If you can spare a dollar or two please consider contributing.  All money will go directly to the family and help them rebuild a home and their lives.

Currently they are all bunked in with Barry and Jenny Wellington at Koonoomoo, the grandparents of the kids awaiting the chance to move to a new house in the coming weeks.

For those not in a position to help out financially please consider they lost EVERYTHING and they need our help in getting their lives back into place so if you have any spare household items, clothing etc that you think you could spare please post a note or call 03 5871 1202.

Great thanks to Deb and the members of the Cobram Youth Opportunity Shop who has been instrumental in helping find the furniture to get her started again.  The Cobram Primary School and Cobram Special School have both been fantastic in taking in collections for clothing to help cloth these kids. The Strathmerton Lions Club and The Brown family thank you to you all for all the assistance you have provided.

We would also like to sincerely thank the many Fire Departments that attended. We were told there was over 30 fire trucks there, we saw them from all over and we will always be thankful for all that they put in. Being on a rural property once you lose power you lose water as well so each of the fire trucks had to rotate and go and bring the water in to put the fire out. It was a massive exercise and we are very grateful for all their tiresome service.

Thank you for visiting this page and for your contribution into giving this family back some sort of life!
