These are unusual times and Komor for Arizona State Governor 2018 is not your usual campaign.   We have no political party affiliation, no big sponsors or donors, no lobbyists, no PAC money or investors.  This, in a sense, is YOUR campaign.  If you believe in what we stand for - STAND WITH US.  Talk about the campaign, wear a t-shirt, contact someone you know with community visibility to endorse us, plant a yard sign, put up flyers, get a copy of our PowerPoint and do a presentation for an organization you are involved with, put on a bumper sticker on your car or your laptop, donate some hours with us, or make a contribution enabling us to do those things.

The down side?  If you don't get behind the campaign it's not going anywhere!

The up side? If elected Christian R. Komor will work for no one but YOU and the other  citizens of Arizona.

We need your donations today! Some said we couldn't do it, but we are already working with the various stakeholders involved with the Navajo Generating Station (NGS) in Northern Arizona to establish Carbon Capture retrofitting. This will provide us the the feedstock we need to begin blooming EHUX algae to remove carbon directly from the atmosphere. The NGS is a huge first step toward Repairing Climate Change and rescuing hundreds of jobs which provide the majority of income for the Navajo and Hopi tribes.

This must be our number one priority. If we don't arrest climate change by the 2030's NOTHING ELSE YOU ARE DOING TODAY WILL HAVE A FUTURE!!
The United Nations Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the National Science Foundation (and thousands of scientists including many here at home in Arizona’s institutions of higher learning) who have collectively raised the alarm that efforts at sustainability (reducing further carbon emissions, shifting to alternative energy) will not be enough without the actual removal of carbon already in our atmosphere. They tell us that if we do not bring levels carbon in the atmosphere below at least 350ppm by the 2030s (and they are now above 400ppm), a cascading series negative environmental feedback loops or “tipping levels” will be reached. The Earth will begin to define a new state of “normal” - very unlike the conditions which have allowed our civilization to flourish. We have clear data that these changes (methane release from beneath melting sea ice, carbon release from novel soil microbes, etc.) are already beginning scientists tell us we have a short 10-15 years to avoid this disaster. If we do not take bold and heroic action now, by the end of this century the conditions which have sustained human life may no longer exist.

We need YOU to contribute to this historic effort. This is not a fund-raiser to save starving children, or prevent the use of chemical weapons, or stop sexual discrimination - this is for the entire future of our entire civilization. (If you doubt any of this research I encourage you to check it yourselves - but make sure you go directly to the actual research data from NOAA, NASA, the IPCC etc.)

If you care about your grandchildren having a future to grow up in GIVE NOW TODAY and give generously.

I am a tested leader and I am enamored with this State of ours with all it's variety, humanity, adventure and incomparably beauty. I do not step forward into the public arena lightly, or eagerly. I do so because, while there are those who would wish us to remain distracted and immersed in the humdrum of daily life, cataclysmic dangers are rapidly approaching which, by the next election cycle, it may be too late to surmount. I do so because Arizona is, in fact, in a State of Emergency. Success or failure, as General McArthur once put it, may "come down to the width of an eyelash".

Polling data shows that most Americans are not aware that shifting to sustainable energy sources such as wind and solar will not remove the massive amounts of carbon already in the atmosphere. Nor (on any time-scale useful for preserving human civilization) will the forces of nature. At over 400ppm, and still rapidly climbing, our atmospheric system is beginning to falter. If it does, this will be no less real and no less imminent a threat than that surprise attack in December which finally drew us into the Second World War. In large part today's seeming surprise attack by climate forces is due to a now publicly acknowledged, decades-long marketing strategy (similar to that which occurred in the tobacco industry not so long ago) to keep global warming and it's effects under a blanket of secrecy for decades. This gave time for those in the fossil fuel industry to reap profits and dump waste free of charge into our collectively-owned atmosphere.

Today we wake to find ourselves already at the threshold of an atmospheric point-of-no-return. Scientists tell us that by the mid-2030's (only a dozen or so years away) we will see the onset of "environmental feedback loops" or "tipping levels" beyond which humans will not have the resources to restore our damaged atmosphere. Already some of these feedback loops are beginning: Previously reflective arctic ice melting and leaving heat-trapping dark ocean water exposed and vast stores of methane released; Atmospheric warming triggering the release of carbon from soil (where most carbon is stored) in massive “pulses"; Increasing ocean acidification and marine die-off; Global warming-increased water vapor (a strong greenhouse gas) causing temperatures to climb further; Overheated ocean waters releasing stores of dissolved carbon into the atmosphere; Plants too saturated with carbon dioxide to perform life-sustaining photosynthesis; Increasing wildfires and insect infestations releasing more stores of carbon to the atmosphere; Disruption of the ocean conveyor which moves heat around our planet. These feedback loops will soon reach a point of no return and, for the sake of our grandchildren, we must not let this happen. Fortunately, if we awaken soon enough and rise collectively to meet the challenge (Which is why I wrote the book Climate Deadline 2035) we may still have time to deploy powerful climate engineering strategies to reduce carbon already in the atmosphere fast enough to avoid the approaching climate deadline. But we must gather together now and fight for our survival now!

Yes, there are other pressing issues - jobs, migrations, crime, taxes, social justice, education, campaign reform, to name only a few. But these are administrative tasks easily handled. But it is not business as usual at the ice cream shop. If we do not wake up to this threat from climate disruption immediately we will have no future in which to accomplish our other goals for Arizona. It won't matter if Escallante is pillaged or the Bears Ears are shortened - we will be - in a very real and permanent sense - done.

Now more than ever that we require leadership that is aware of the actual dangers that confront us and is prepared to fight to protect what is still good in our civilization. Practicing as a doctor for most of the past 30 years, I have been trained to analyze problems, utilize relevant research data, develop solutions, and implement them. I will do this for the people of Arizona. I have worked directly with the scientists assessing climate disruption - projecting it's timeline and outcome - and developing strategies for climate rescue. I must tell you it is urgent that we realize that recycling, solar panels and wind turbines are not going to stop global warming. Forty years ago that was possible. Today those are solutions for the sustainable future - a future we will not have if we do not immediately pursue something called Climate Engineering - the direct removal of carbon already in the atmosphere. This is our challenge and we must rise to it - if not as a nation then as a State.

As we go forward together I will endeavor to be as clear and straightforward as possible about my intended policies and programs so that voters can make an informed decision on which candidate’s name to write on their ballot. I believe a candidate must remain committed and steadfast to the principles and priorities embodied in their platform. While maintaining efficiently the routine functions of State government, I will also form Nine "Revitazona Projects" to work on the critical special issues which now confront Arizonans.

It has been said that "Politics hates a vacuum. If no one fills it with hope someone will fill it with fear." We do have a fearful task ahead of us, but together let us fill our future with clear-eyed hope - beginning with a restoration of our climate balance, the basis for all human life and activity.
This is one election we MUST win!
