Kokoda+ Stronger Than You Think

In June this year I will be trekking the historic Kokoda trail in an expedition lead by Australian Olympic silver medallist Ji Wallace. The theme of the Trek is ‘You Are Stronger Than You Think’.
The trek is to raise funds for HIV Foundation QLD and awareness in an effort to break down the stigma that is still experienced, in Australia and around the world, today by those living with HIV.
However for me this is more than just a trek about HIV, it is about setting myself a personal challenge both physically and mentally. This trek is about proving to myself and others that no matter your struggle, no matter your ailment, no matter where you come from or whatever you have been handed in life it does not limit or define you. When you work hard, set your mind to something and pursue it wholeheartedly you will find there is no limit to what you can achieve.
The Kokoda trail, a 90km single-foot path through the mountainous rainforest of PNG, is well known for its treacherous conditions and perilous terrain. It was the site of a major battle between Australian and Japanese forces during WW2. It has become almost an Australian’s rite of passage, of resilience, empowerment, and accomplishment knowing that you really are stronger than you think.
Trekking the Kokoda trail is something I was always wanted to do and I am honoured to have the opportunity to be able to do it this year lead by Ji Wallace and for the funds raised to go to such a worthy cause.
As such I will be personally covering the 5% fee charged by the GoFundMe site from each donation I receive so you can be assured that 100% of your donations will go to the HIV Foundation QLD. I greatly value your support.
