Kody San Martin's Recovery

Donation protected
I, Ryan San Martin, the uncle of Kody San Martin, am putting this gofundme page together with the approval of Kody San Martin’s parents, Robert San Martin and Kristina Skinner, in order to help Kody in his time of need.

On May 28, 2019, Kody San Martin was struck by a car while skateboarding to school. As a student of Simi Valley High School, Kody San Martin usually skateboards to and from school with his friends. Nothing was different about this morning, Kody followed his usual routine and route, but little did we all know that all of our lives would be impacted by this morning. While just one block away from campus at roughly 7:45 AM, Kody was struck by a car, projecting him in the air, and landing several feet away.

Many witnessed the accident, and the accounts are heart breaking. Many people rushed to help him, but despite their efforts, he was unresponsive at the scene, and was rushed to a local hospital. While at the local hospital, it was discovered that the list of injuries was extensive, and he was airlifted to Children’s Hospital in Los Angeles, and has been in ICU since. Kody’s list of injuries are serious.  Although Kody is a fighter and we know he will recover, we also know the road ahead will be difficult for him with follow up treatments and therapies.

For those of you know that know Kody, you know him as a funny, generous, loving, kind, and talented individual. He’s an amazing nephew, older brother, son, and grandson to his family. He is also talented musician and skateboarder. Much like Kody, his parents have also been  generous and welcoming to all of his friends and many people in the community.

I am calling on the community, friends, family, and anyone else who finds it in their heart to please contribute to this recovery fund. As we all know, medical expenses add up quickly and insurance will only cover so much. I want to make sure that regardless of what the outcome is, that my nephew will have the care and treatment that is necessary. Every little bit helps.

Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me.

Best regards,

Ryan San Martin
