Knut's Medical Expenses

My name is Christine Mann and I'm setting up this GoFundMe page on behalf of Colleen Boyle to help with Knut's medical expenses.  Anyone who knows Colleen, either through a Pyr Facebook group or in real life, knows Knut is the most cherished creature on Earth to her.  Knut isn't just "any dog," he's her everything.  I was with her on the road trip to adopt Knut from a rescue in Destin, Florida on July 5 2008, and I can attest to that fact that since that day she's spent every possible moment making Knut's life as extraordinary as possible.  


Medical Backstory: Knut had tie back surgery several weeks ago to help him breathe better as his Laryngeal Paralysis progressed.  Just over 5 weeks after the surgery, Knut got a mild case of pneumonia.   While recovering from that, Knut began having respiratory issues.  On June 26th, Colleen knew something was wrong with her precious boy and rushed him to an emergency vet where he began receiving oxygen.  Since then, Knut has undergone several procedures to remove air from his chest cavity.  Knut has been to see several specialists this week and has been under veterinary care 24/7 since June 26th.  The specialist recommended that Colleen transport Knut to a specialist who could do a CT Scan.  Colleen took him to a highly recommended vet in Decatur, GA today and they advised her to go to UGA (University of Georgia Athens) to have access to a much faster CT machine as well as a ventilator (just in case!).  Knut is now resting under observation at UGA and is scheduled to have the CT in the morning so they can learn the underlying cause of his respiratory issues.  The medical bills for this week are already in the thousands and the estimate Colleen received today from UGA for the CT scan and care is $6,000.   


There have been many posts online asking how to help so I started this page to make it easier to donate as well as to help communicate updates on Knut's condition.   A donation of any size is greatly appreciated, as are you continued prayers and well wishes.
