Knox in New York

This winter break, students enrolled in the ART 247: Knox in New York will be traveling to New York city to spend two weeks visiting galleries, creating art and immersing themselves in the artistic and creative culture that flows through New York City.

We are hoping to raise $3000, so that each student can get a cut on the course fee. By raising money we are hoping to lessen the burden of price, and make this trip more accessible to more students.

All students enrolled in the class are interested in either Studio Art or Art History, and going to New York is going to allow us all to realize our own full potentials in these fields. We will be visiting various artists studios, talking to them and getting to know what it really means to live and breathe as an artist. We will also be visiting world renowned art museums such as the MoMA, the Guggenheim and the MET, among many others. During the trip students will also be taking drawing classes at the New York Studio School and giving presentations on an artist of their choice. After the trip we will reconvene in Galesburg to spend three days creating an extensive body of work based on our experiences during New York.
