Thru Hiking the Continental Divide

Donation protected
Hi everyone!

I'm getting ready to thru hike the Continental Divide; a hike that will be over 3,000 miles and take about 6 months to accomplish. I've always been one for adventure, but never one of this size.  Last year I decided to change that and take the steps necessary to get to the beginning of the trail.
I graduated college in 2009 and luckily found a job in Rome, GA straight out of school. I worked a job in insurance where I found myself inside on the phone most of the day. Now don't get me wrong, it was a great job and an even better opportunity to get some experience in the work field...but I soon found myself feeling like something didn't fit. By the age of 24 I owned a home I would only stay in during the week, then would  escape to the rivers and mountains every single weekend. Eventually enough was enough. I couldn't deny how happy I was out in the woods away from the city, so I decided to make a change.

By August 2014 I had sold my house and quit my job, bought a camper and moved out to the river where I got in my canoe as much as possible. I was lucky enough to go on random little adventures to rivers around the SE while working odd jobs to start saving money for the hike, but all that traveling was just fuel for the CDT fire. Once the season was over (I was located on the Ocoee river) I moved up to the mountains in Blairsville, Ga with my thru hiking boyfriend.

The first week of May we will head out to New Mexico to begin our journey up North to Canada. I'm lucky enough to be going with quite a pro, with him already completing the entire Appalacian Trail and Pacific Crest. Me on the other hand, this will be my first thru hike and I've never been more excited, nervous, scared, ect about something in my life. I have been saving money for this for quite some time, but could always use extra help. I plan on documenting the entire trip as much as possible for anyone that would be interested in my experience.
