Help Us Publish Klaus Postler's Art

Donation protected
Please help us publish "KLAUSLAND: The Life and Work of Klaus Postler"  and raise funds for the Klaus Postler Foundation. Klaus passed away unexpectedly on January 6, 2013. He was a highly gifted artist who shared much of his work across the globe as a vital member of the Mail Art movement. He lived and breathed art,  but didn't spend much energy in the process of self promotion. We wish to do that for him.

Klaus left behind a large volume of artworks which we feel compelled to share with the world, not only because we loved the man, but because his work is an important cultural contribution. We are publishing an introduction to his art and need to raise $10,000 to create the quality of book his work deserves.

Approximately $6500 will be needed to publish the book; shipping and advertising costs will cost approximately $500. All remaining funds will go towards the foundation we are starting in Klaus' name to help emerging artists--a long-time wish expressed by Klaus in his sketchbooks. Hampden Gallery at UMass Amherst holds a biennial Klaus Postler Memorial Exhibition. The foundation would like to give the chosen artists a stipend. The plan is to assist with scholarship money and grants to artists in the future.

There will be a book launch and exhibit of Klaus' work on Saturday, December 3rd at Paper City Arts, 80 Race Street, Holyoke, MA 01040, 6-9 pm.

UPDATE: It seems that Klaus has sprinkled a little fairy dust onto us and this endeavor. We ordered 100 books but the book publisher, in error, published 200 books--giving us a substantial discount on the second 200. So now we have a lot more books to sell and can sell them for a more affordable price of $50. To those of you who already bought books, please let us know if you would like money back. If not, extra funds will be put to very good use with the Klaus Postler Foundation.

Books can be purchased at the show or you can donate here to obtain one. $80 contributions o this gofundme fundraiser will give you the book along with $30 going toward the Klaus Postler Foundation. Contribute $50.00  and we will send you a first edition copy of "KLAUSLAND: The Life and Work of Klaus Postler," in early December.

Thank you for helping us share Klaus Postler's art with the world.
