Kitten suffers serious wire injury

Tax deductible
This little kitten was noticed by a good samaritan entangled in barbed wire.  He must have been there for a while.  It was difficult to get near this little kitten as he was obviously in a great deal of pain.  But Second Chance jumped into action and was able to get the wire cut and rushed the kitten to our veterinary hospital in North Brookfield MA.  The wire was wrapped around his tiny leg.  We are fearful that the leg will not be able to be saved.  Currently this kitten is undergoing surgery to remove the wire and clean the wound.  Due to the extent of injury we expect amputation will be likely.  For now, we just need to get him stabilized and control his pain.  He has been named Freddy.  We expect Freddy will be with us for a while and require additional surgery, most likely for amputation and extensive recovery time.  Freddy is estimated at about 4 months old.  We hope you will join us in helping this little guy.  His story is just beginning and we are hoping for a happy ending as he receives treatment for this tragic accident.
