Fund Kista Tucker Dance, Inc.
Since 1995 Kista Tucker Dance, Inc. (AKA Kista Tucker Insights) has been creating and performing works that address the human condition.
From Genevieve of the Woods, where the aspect of “the other” is explored, to Two Tears in the Dirt, that examines the roles of rule-makers, workers, and innocents within a society; Kista fosters awareness. From The Wall, where barriers are a mainstay, to her most recent work, Factorium: A Trilogy--Reflections on Factory/Institution Inhabitants, she continues to bring consciousness to situations in life, in society.
The expression of these conditions and telling of these stories brings a mindfulness that can make a difference in people’s lives.
Taking it a step further—from The Korean War Veterans Memorial Project, produced in Texas and California; to our PTSD Benefit Concert, performed in Rochester, NY; and our concert at The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC; Kista not only tells a story offering a glimpse into the human condition, but reaches new audiences as she sheds light on veiled issues.
What we are raising the money for and how the money will be used...
We're raising the money for several expenses that are the underpinnings for making dance/movement art as well as the more obvious artistic needs and sensibilities.
Rent: We need to rent space for our concert in the fall and for the rehearsals from now until the production, rehearsals necessary to complete the work.
Dancers: We need to pay our dancers for their time and expertise. We are professionals in our field. We have multiple degrees and professional experience in dance, art, theater, science, somatics, business, movement analysis, and other areas.
Teachers: We need to pay our faculty for teaching in our Summer Intensives. Stay tuned to learn more about this year's KT'16SI. http://kistatucker.com
Equipment: We need to invest in a new computer and software so we can produce state of the art videos of our work (necessary for performance applications), update our website, and keep the company sound, competitive, and current with today's world.
Insurance: To protect the company and the dancers it is essential that we carry liability insurance.
Costumes: We need new costumes (we've reused older ones too often).
Transportation and Fees: We need funding for transportation in order to get to and from events, and funds for workshop and conference registration fees.
Music & Copyright: It would be marvelous if we had the funding so we could commission new music and do the legal work of getting our dances and Kista's Warm-Ups copyrighted.
Our goal is $15,000, and every cent we collect will go toward the work we do. With your help we will reach a much wider audience.

When do we need the funds...
We need the bulk of the funds now so we can make the work in a safe/clean space, set up classes and workshops, and begin to market for our concert in the fall. We need the final $3,000 by September so we can finalize our concert. If we had it all now, it would go to immediate use, create more grounding and make our company even stronger.
What this means to us...
It means the world to us. This campaign is the lifeblood of our company and your gift will truly strengthen our work. Without a university or studio to back us, we rely on our own ingenuity and resources. Your gift not only shows your belief in our process, but is a true partnership with Kista Tucker Dance. With your help, we will be able to continue to create and provide the quality of work that reaches people. We will be able to communicate with the world. Together, we make a great product.
Thank you for all you have done in the past and for helping now. Your contributions are always warmly felt and your presence is always with us as we go forward.

Mission Statement: Kista Tucker Dance, Inc. will promote educational and culturally enhanced awareness of life through the artistic vision of Kista Tucker. Performances, workshops, classes, and other vehicles of exchange will be used to stimulate physical, intellectual, and emotional growth throughout local, national, and international communities.
our insights into numerous festivals, and are sought for other professional events, people are more frequently seeking our presence and perspective.
We want to introduce you to our new website: https://KistaTuckerInsights.org . This is the beginning of sharing more videos, insights into our rehearsal process, a "Weekly Tip," and more. Additionally, we finally purchased our new computer and as expected, it is making life much easier.
We are pursuing a couple major projects. First, is our KT 2017 Winter Workshop. The dates are December 28-30. Three full days of classes, rehearsals, and a public performance round out the event. Check it out at
Second, is a project I started over a year ago, The Factory Project. This adventure has grown in strength and vision. It began as a solo for one of our company members (Julie). Then, it needed siblings, so I created two new solos for other dancers (Tiffanie & me). These three solos, when performed back to back became a Trilogy. And now this trilogy is rearing itself into a full-blown evening-length project about factories and the people who inhabit them. It seems to have a life of its own. It is story based, yet open for abstracted ideas, images, designs, and sounds. It’s intriguing…so many possibilities. It also will involve non-dancers, members of the community are being sought to work with us. If you are interested, email us at KistaTucker@gmail.com .
The date is not yet set, but we are working on securing a theater early next fall with a large floor, professional lighting/sound equipment, and a house large enough to cradle our audience without being so enormous that people get lost.
If you know of a location that might work, please contact us. The Factory Project can travel, but being near our home base has its up-side. It is quite possible you, your school, or your movement family could be a part of the work. We would love to share this project with other communities.
his is an uncertain time for all the arts, especially dance. Recognized sources for funding are drying up or being eliminated, therefore, we need your help more than ever. Come see our work—your presence not only gives you first-hand knowledge of a performance that you helped make possible, but it also helps to validate the time, effort, and belief each company member commits to our projects.
We hope you will visit our website, a rehearsal, a performance, a workshop, or another event we sponsor. You will see for yourself why we are recognized for informing and contributing, as we do, to society. You've already made an impact, reconnect with us by participating in this year's Overture so we may continue to speak the unspeakable.
Since we started this GoFundMe project nearly a year ago, we have used your gifts to help support Kista Tucker Insights (AKA: Kista Tucker Dance, Inc.). You have helped us purchase and create costumes, pay for theater rental space, maintain our website, purchase promotional materials, and more. You not only made our concert at American University possible last November, you helped make it a great concert!
We haven't reached our goal yet, so we are reinitiating this project. Our dancers are professionals and represent the best of what dance can accomplish. We need to pay them for what they contribute. Without them, we wouldn't be where we are; we wouldn't make the positive impact and thus, we wouldn't be contributing to society and humankind as we are.
Please consider giving, contributing again, and sharing this GoFundMe project with your friends, colleagues, and family.
And, to update you on one of our activities, our summer dance intensive is confirmed for 2017. The dates are June 25 - July1. It will take place at our resident home, The Russell School of Ballet in Chantilly, VA. Go to http://kistatucker.com/chantilly-kt17si.php to learn more.

The work is about the human condition and the concert includes seven dances that exemplify that insight. From hilarious activity to puzzle solving moments, from uplifting to sad (and more), the work touches the human core.
