As many of you are already aware, the Kirts family was involved in a horrific car accident on January 9th. As the family traveled to New York, their family vehicle was struck multiple times by state police, as they were on a high speed chase attempting to apprehend a murder suspect in the Philadelphia area. Billy suffered a brain bleed and broken ribs. His wife Meghan suffered a concussion, several broken ribs, as well as a neck and back injury. Meghan's brother, who accompanied the family, suffered a concussion. Meghan's  three year old son, suffered the most severe injuries. David was in the back seat, and as you can  surmise from the picture above, the impact had devastating effects for him. He has multiple skull fractures, a small brain bleed, a injury to his spine at c1 and c2, abdomen pain, and difficulty urinating. He is listed as critical but stable condition in the ICU. His prognosis is unknown. Thankfully, the couple's youngest daughter escaped the collision with no injuries. The full extent of Meghan's injuries is unknown at this time because she checked out the hospital  against  medical advice, to be by her son's side. The Kirts family will have a long road to recovery, filled with many challenges. But finances doesn't have to be and shouldn't be one of them. They will be unable to work while they recover, they no longer have a vehicle to get to and from the hospital for visits and appointments. Then there is the mounting medical bills and the cost of living. If you know anything about this family, you know two things: they are strong and they are there for you without fail, whenever you need them. Let's return the favor, and try to be there for them in their time of need now! They are a good, hard working family. If anyone deserves it, they do! If you can't afford to help financially, please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. Words of encouragement,  a listening ear, a plate of food or a ride to and from are also helpful. One of things, I always loved about my years in Armstead, was the way the people looked out for one another and the sense of comradory. This was especially true of the Kirts/Ratliff family, let's show them a little love in return. Also, please  share, share, share! Thank you all in advanced, it is appreciated more than you could ever know!

Friday/Saturday Update: Continued prayers are very much appreciated, as Meghan was informed that due to the severity of his injuries, David could at best, expect a 75% recovery, but even that seemed unlikely. Despite everything, David was already able to walk with assistance for short distances, and take a few unassisted steps. Let us all pray for 100% healing. This baby didnt deserve any of this. This morning, they were going to discharge David. However, several things seemed to point glaringly to the idea that it wasn't the right course action. For instance, Meghan had not received any instructions for helping her son's recovery upon release. After advocating for her son, it came to light that there had been a miscommunication, and David will remain in the hospital for a few additional days. He is making great strides, but he his road to recovery will be a long one. We appreciate everyone who has prayed, reached out, offered kind words, shared our GoFundMe, and/or donated. Please continue to keep David and his family in your thoughts and prayers! Thanks again!
