KATCAG is setting out to prevent hundreds of acres of prime agricultural farmland being allocated to housing and industrial development.  By the end of June, we hope to persuade the Council and Trinity College, Cambridge (the principal landowner) to abandon their attempt to mug Suffolk Coastal District Council’s communities.

Our objectives include

Preventing eco-vandalism on a grand scale

Protecting local schoolchildren from a massive pollution increase
saving two ‘Domesday’ villages from extinction

Preserving prime farmland, particularly valuable in the context of Brexit (Michael Gove)

Saving the habitats, currently the home of a wide range of plants, animals and insects, including deer, hares and a wide range of raptors
Following professional advice, we are confident this land is not needed for housing or a lorry park.  The attempt to grab it would appear to be speculative land-banking on the part of SCDC and greed on the part of some hungry developers!  We can’t be accused of NIMBY’ism (Not In My Back Yard) because the Council’s proposals will adversely affect every single Parish within its constituency.

We are asking for financial support to pay for a leading barrister and planning consultant to argue what is recognised to be a strong case.
