I was recently diagnosed with cervical distonia, a neurological condition that has made it impossible for me to work the last few months. I have been faced with uncontrollable tremors and muscle spasms that cause my head to turn violently up and to the left. The pain has made it difficult to complete even the simplest of household or personal care tasks, and absolutely impossible to continue on with my jewelry business. My vision and balance have been affected. I am trying different treatment options that seem to be helping slightly, but even on a good day I am only able to sit up a few times for a half hour at a time, and maybe venture out of the house for a walk around the block. I have applied for disability assistance, but that takes 3 months to up to a year to go through and I just dont know what to do. I have absolutely no money to pay for rent and any expenses in the meantime and I am actually quite scared. It has been a very humbling experience and so I am humbly asking for donations so that I may stay in my apartment until either I find the combination of treatments that will significantly improve my ability to function, or my application for disability goes through.
