My beloved husband Kim has a heart of gold. For the last 25 years he's spent his life in service to others. As a Healing Arts Practitioner, he has helped many people improve their lives. He's offered a path to pull people out of the shadows so they can transcend all kinds of difficulties to find inner peace. But now, Kim really needs your help in his quest to heal from cancer. In October 2017, Kim was diagnosed with Stage 4, Base of Tongue Squamous Cell Carcinoma which has migrated to his lymph glands. Surgery is not possible due to the complicated location of the tumor. 
Kim's Treatment Plan
Kim is receiving MTET: "Multi Targeted Epigenetic Therapy" with Dr. Nezami in Newport Beach, CA. This is a cutting edge, Epigenetic cancer treatment with an impressive success rate. It generates results, even with very advanced cancer patients who were sent home to die by their doctors. Dr. Nezami looks at the genetic profile of the individual cancer (with specialized lab tests). And he utilizes advanced molecular technologies to match tumors with the treatments that will give the best response. Kim's genetic tests revealed the specific pathways that need to be addressed in his case. And he also tested positive for Circulating Tumor Cells. These are cancer cells that have detached from the primary tumor and travel through the bloodstream, with the potential to affect other parts of the body.
Because of the Circulating Tumor Cells, Dr. Nezami says that Radiation would be a bad idea as a first course of action. It might shut down the activity of Kim's tumors, but it wouldn't do anything to address the Circulating Tumor Cells. In fact, Kim was at high risk for further metastasis and recurrence. In essence, radiation would have bought Kim some time (while creating misery from side effects) but it would cause a much bigger disaster later on down the road. Once they radiate your mouth / throat, and you have a cancer recurrence, the radiation cannot be repeated again. There is simply too much damage to healthy tissue. All they can do is bust open your jaw to remove your tongue, and then resect your lymph glands.
Instead, Dr. Nezami is treating Kim's cancer at it's source: The stem cells. Kim receives this treatment by IV drip. He's getting three bags a day of high dose, non-toxic Nutraceuticals, which takes 6 hours per day. Kim has completed 3 weeks so far and is heading into week 4. He's also on three different pharmacuetical prescription drugs for 6 weeks. These are not chemo drugs, but they go after some of the genetic targets in question. Blood tests were taken after the 2 week mark to monitor progress. The results were absolutely amazing! It showed that Kim is responding beautifully to the treatment. Some of his markers have already come into the normal range, but they still need to get his circulating tumor cell count below threshold. This may take a few more weeks. Once all the cancer in the blood is fully under control, they will discuss whether or not Kim needs to do Proton Radiation as a second line of defense to finish off the tumors. Proton is a type of radiation that results in less collateral damage than Intensity Modulated Radiation. It is a better option that will help preserve Kim's future quality of life and reduce suffering.

How These Funds Will be Used
Our goal of $15,000 contributes towards part of the overall cost of MTET. So far, Kim's medical debt has gone over $30,000 and is steadily climbing. If Kim proceeds to Proton Radiation, this will cost an additional $40,000. We have been warned by the doctor that Kim's insurance probably won't cover Proton. And beyond this, he will still need monthly follow up infusions for a few years in order to keep him cancer-free for the long haul. MTET is not covered by insurance either. 100% of funds raised here will go towards Kim's cancer treatment.
