Kim Palmers #KimPossibleFightAgainstBreastCancer

In March, my 45-year-old sister, Kim Palmer heard the same words that my mom heard at age 45 – “You have Breast Cancer”.  Kim’s first thoughts were how she would manage to provide for her family while fighting this horrible disease that took our mom at the young age of 46.  Kim is a loving mother of 2 and has been married to her husband for 24 years.  After her mammogram and biopsy, the prognosis seemed optimistic and Kim thought she would have surgery to remove the Cancer and get right back to work.  Kim ended up having a Double Mastectomy and it was found that the Cancer had spread to her Lymph Nodes.  She now needs extensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments as we wait to see what her future prognosis holds.  This will require extended time off work as she fights this horrible disease.  This is only the latest chapter in this dedicated family’s current challenges.

Kim’s hero husband, a KCMO Fire Captain, was injured on the job, and after multiple unsuccessful surgeries he was deemed totally disabled and unable to work 3 years ago.  The near $2000 per month Health Insurance premium through the Fire Department was too much for them to afford.  They sold their dream home in Smithville and moved back to Dan's hometown.  She took a job at a local school district and opened a gift store to supplement their income, but she has been forced to close the store due to her health.  Funding from your contributions will go directly to assisting Kim with her overwhelming medical bills. She is faced with a $5,000 annual deductible, a $10,000 annual out of pocket maximum, Family Health Insurance premiums close to $1000 per month, a plethora of medicine costs, the expenses of multiple weekly 1.5 hour trips to the city, and income replacement.  Kim is a born fighter and we would very much appreciate your generous gift that will help her focus on fighting this battle and provide some financial peace of mind to her family. Every donation is a blessing for her.  Kim volunteers her time as a biblical counselor for those in need including visits to jails/prisons, abuse victims, and marital counseling.  Kim’s hobbies are spending time with her family, volunteering, working with kids, singing, and photography.  You can also follow her cancer blog at https://faithisbiggerthanfear.com  or visit her Etsy store at https://etsy.me/2W57h3A

Thank you in advance for your kind generosity and know that Kim will be eternally grateful for any help she’s able to get.  Please share!
