Help us support Kim, Jason, & Daniel Watkins in their journey as they fight triple negative Metastatic Breast Cancer.
The Story
We all have someone whose influence seems to consistently linger in our lives. Maybe they're a parent, a relative, a teacher... Or two, in this case! For many of us who have attended Niwot High and Altona Middle schools, Kim & Jason Watkins are a total power couple (both on and off stage). From teaching choir and theater to stage technology and photography, they have changed the lives of countless students, co-workers and friends over the years. They have become a second family to many, with ever-open arms full of endless encouragement and support. They have impacted so many of us so significantly; and now it's time for us to provide some of that same encouragement and support in return.
The Diagnosis
The Watkins family recently received the news that Kim has triple negative Metastatic Breast Cancer. A triple negative diagnosis has a significantly lower survival rate, is a more aggressive cancer, and is more likely to recur than other types of breast cancer. While Kim, Jason, and Daniel are ready to fight this battle, they need some help from their friends.
The Cost
The Watkins's are anticipating between $30,000 - $40,000 in medical bills and lost wages over the next couple of months. We are encouraging every student, co-worker, family member, and friend who is able to donate to please give what they can. Every little bit counts!
