Listen, I have something important to tell you. As you know, I am running for city council in the upcoming municipal election on October 22nd 2018, and I am looking for your support. For the past few years, our city has gained a reputation as being unwelcoming and unsafe, especially for Indigenous people.
What businesses are going to want to invest and develop here, if we are perceived as being unwelcoming and unsafe?
What visitors are going to want to come here and spend their money, if we don't change our reputation?
What families are going to want to move here, if they think it is unsafe?
What parents are going to want to send their children here for school, if they don't understand how welcoming Thunder Bay can really be?
I believe it is time for change!
We need to start having those difficult conversations about this!
I plan to be YOUR City Councillor who is interested in being more collaborative, more supportive and more open to creating a culture of change. I will push to better support our community and promote safety and inclusion.
