Kilimanjaro Hike - Cystic Fibrosis

Hi there, My Name is Ryan Doherty and Welcome to my GoFundMe campaign. I am raising support and donations for Cystic Fibrosis by hiking Kilimanjaro in 2018

So your probably thinking what is Cystic Fibrosis?

Cystic fibrosis (CF) is an inherited chronic disease that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system of about 1200 children and adults in the Ireland (70,000 worldwide). A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that:

clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections; and
obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food.

As you can see it is very difficult for someone to with CF to carry out daily tasks that we all take for granted

My little cousin has CF and I see how it affects him and his childhood but he is still living life to his fullest and doesn't let anything or anyone stop him...

I'd like to just say thank you for taking the time to read this campaign and if I've inspired at least one person to research more about Cystic Fibrosis then I'm happy because the more people that are educated about this disease then the more public support we have
