KIKI'S DEBUT IN NEW ZEALAND

Donation protected
I've finally done it! After years of countless people encouraging me to write my play, it's finally here!  Actually, it's not here.  It's making it's premier in Auckland, New Zealand!

You don't know who I am?  I apologize.  Let me introduce myself in third person.  KIKI is a seasoned Hawaiʻi-based actress whose most recent theatrical appearances have been in Victor Rodger’s My Name is Gary Cooper, Makerita Urale’s Frangipani Perfume and Victoria N. Kneubuhl’s Holiday of Rain.  KIKI’s most recent project is as a playwright.  She has been working with the award winning New Zealand playwright Victor Rodger to create Puzzy, a ground breaking new play which gives voice to the Pacific Island lesbian experience which is virtually invisible in Pacific theatre.  Excerpts from  Puzzy  were presented to much acclaim in Auckland, New Zealand in November and subsequently in December at the University of Hawaiʻi at Mānoa.  Puzzy will make its world premiere at the Auckland PRIDE Festival in Auckland, New Zealand on February 9, 2016.

"The lesbian voice in Pacific theatre is virtually non-existent. By creating Puzzy, Kiki is breaking important new territory in Pacific theatre and repping hard for a part of the Pacific theatre community who deserve to be heard, seen and reflected on stage" --Victor RodgerMy Name is Gary Cooper.

Your generous donation will send KIKI to the premiere of Puzzy in Auckland where she will experience this rare opportunity of being surrounded by esteemed and established Pacific Theatre artists.  Your support will also aide in further development of Puzzy for it’s Hawaiʻi premier!

"I am so humbled by this opportunity.  We live in tough times and I'm quite familiar with the struggle, so any support and generosity is immensely appreciated and taken to heart.  Many theatre artists dream of going to New York, but It's always been my dream to go to Aotearoa.  To me it's the Broadway of the Pacific! And to be there during PRIDE for the premier of a ground breaking play that I wrote?! I . . I'm speechless.  So your donation would mean the world to me! Whatever I learn there, I promise to bring back to enrich my community. Giving back has always been my intention."
