Kids Caring

There are over 300 animals in Rochester, MN who suffer without a home. The ones who are lucky enough, are in our local shelters waiting for a family to come take them to their "furever" home! What we want to do is give these amazing, innocent, and loving creatures, a comfy bed to sleep on. A bed that will go home with them as well, to help them transition too. We only can do this with your help!

A few months ago, a bunch of kids in the Oronoco area decided it would be fun to make beds for the animal shelters in Rochester. Seeing the excitement and care in their faces, I grabbed my keys, and we went to the fabric store! We spent the next few days making bed, after bed, after bed... Totaling 86 beds! We then piled the van up and all of us went to two of the local shelters, and dropped them off. We got the pleasure of being able to hand them out personally! The kids were filled with excitement and love when they got to see the look on the animal's faces. It was truly an unforgettable experience for the kids and the animals!

The kids are asking if they can make more beds. I love that they want to keep doing this. I am willing to get this up and going again if I had a little more help! We are hoping for donations, so we can purchase the scrap fleece, stuffing, and sewing equipment at the fabric stores. Only $100.00, makes 20 nice big dog beds or 50 cat beds (way less expensive than in a pet store). Any little bit would help! Our goal is to make enough beds to supply the shelters for winter time.
