Kicking it with Kaylee

Our daughter Kaylee was diagnosed with a Stage 3 Wilms tumor on her left kidney on her 6th bday which was 2/1/18. Since her initial diagnosis Kaylee has undergone numerous scans and lab work. Kaylee underwent surgery on 2/2/18 to try and remove the tumor but due to its size at the time (just over 17cm) they were unable to remove it without doing harm to her. So they did a biopsy to get a better grasp of what kind of tumor they were dealing with to come up with her treatment plan. Kaylee ended up completing 6 weeks of outpatient chemotherapy 3/14/18 and underwent a second surgery on 3/27/18 to again try to remove her tumor and left kidney. This surgery was a success with minimal spillage and she is recovering nicely. However, the preliminary histology of the tumor shows that it contains unfavorable cells where Kaylees current treatment plan will become more aggressive. Our support system has been amazing and we gain new support everyday. We wanted to share her story/journey and eventually to give back to the cancer community. Kicking it with Kaylee funds go to helping her cope with her treatment plans as well as medical finances. Nothing is too small to give and prayers are always welcome.
