Kiara's SC Fund to Belize

Hi, I'm Kiara! I am 19 years old and I am currently going to school to study in Early Childhood Education. I work with children at The Salvation Army Corps (church) in Santa Cruz, California, through youth programs like bible studies and character development. 
I was recently accepted to be involved with The Salvation Army's "Service Corps" program. Service Corps is a missionary program that is organized every summer where teams spend 8 weeks in Salvation Army locations and programs around the world or within the United States. Teams can serve by helping the church, by leading children's programs at schools, organizing meal programs, and other evangelistic work around the area.  Applicants apply early in the year without knowing where they are going to be sent or even the locations that the program plans to visit that summer. The application process relies competely on our faith and trust in God that He will send us where He wants us to be used for the summer.  

I learned about Service Corps when I was young through my church and wanted to be a part of it since then. I feel that God's calling for my life involves working with children in other countries and have been truly blessed to be accepted into the program. I know that I will discover more about myself and God's plan for my life through this experience.
I am proud to announce that I will be on Team Belize this summer!

Team members are asked to fundraise $1,500 before June 5, 2016, to pay for traveling and other expenses. In order to meet this need as quickly as possible, I am looking for people who are willing to make a one-time investment. If you are unable to help financially, I would like to ask for prayer in support of the people who will be involved this summer and for myself as I continue through this process.

I would be very thankful and truly blessed if I can reach this goal on time and be able to experience this journey serving others.
