Khan Medical Support

Hi friends,
Jaweed Khan is a very special employee and asset to Lush Bazaar. Before we hired Jaweed we were an all women business, and we  believed we were going to stay that way, until Jaweed applied for a head tailor position. When Jaweed came in for his interview he said that he has been sewing clothing since the age of 9 years old and has loved every moment of it. But many of his employers were not good people and treated him wrong and many times didn't pay him the right salary. He just wanted a position where he could work reasonable hours, have time for his family and be able to send his 5 children to school and have a better life than he did.

Jaweed has worked for us for almost two years now, and we cannot imagine Lush Bazaar without him. He is such a hard worker and has been by us through thick and thin. When our office space was robbed last year he found two part time jobs to work at while we gave him half his hours, but he promised us he would never leave and he didn't. When we finally were able to bring him on board again and he came back, and even worked extra hours to make up for all our business we had to handle. He works late nights, works during ramadan and goes over and beyond what we ask of him. He is really a star employee.
Today Jaweed was in a motorcycle accident when leaving Lush Bazaar's Indian workspace. Besides his only form of transportation being wrecked, his body took a big hit. He has a broken leg, arm, ribs, and ruptured spleen. Luckily he was wearing a helmet so he is pretty banged up in his head but nothing too detrimental.

It is pretty apparent that Jaweed will not be able to work for a month or two based on how fast he must heal and we want to be able to provide for him some income and help pay his doctor bills. Since we are a start up social enterprise it is hard for us to take away from the money we have invested in the business, but we are tying to at least provide him some money while he recovers. His wife so graciously offered to work for him while he is healing so that their family will be able to have funds to eat, send their kids to school and pay their bills. We hope to hire her part time but want to make sure for the next few weeks she is able to be with Jaweed and help him recover at  home.
Friends, this man has been dedicated to support his family and to support Lush Bazaar. He is part of the LUSH BAZAAR family and we want to do as much as we can to help him during this difficult time.
Any amount will help him and all amount raised will go to Jaweed, his medical expenses and other expenses for his family.
Your gracious gift will help a family who needs it.

Thank you for considering giving to Jaweed a man you never met, but a man who hand made many amazing pieces for Lush Bazaar.
