Cujo was abandoned in a home, he has been with AC since 7/23 and has been released now. Cujo entered the shelter under weight and with an extreme case of mange. Cujo is such a goofy boy who enjoys his outside time. He will chase a ball but will not bring it back. Cujo's hold is up on 8/28/19 and she can be killed by shelter staff after that date.

The shelter has started the heartworm positive dogs on ivermectin to help start them on the slow kill method of heartworm treatment. Ivermectin alone does not cure heartworm and does not kill the adult heartworm. Adult heartworm will continue to damage a dog’s organs. Thorough heartworm treatment to cure a dog of the disease consists of diagnostics and a two prong approach to treatment for both the adult or immature heartworm. Veterinary care and supervision is key
