 PLOVER, WI
Friends of my husband and mine had their home destroyed by a fire this afternoon. Everything of theirs is a total loss. Anything that anyone could donate would help this wonderful family out would be great as they are in dire need of beds, clothes, basic toiletries, cooking and cleaning supplies. And we all know how devastated we would be ourselves if this were to happen to us. Laurie and her 2 children and sister are safe! Thank God! But do need a lot of help right now. Thank you all in advace!

I haven't updated in awhile but here's the newest news from Laurie and her family. Laurie was able to get her new place fixed up a little bit to be able to move in. She is so thankful for each and everyone that has helped either by gift of money, donations for her and her children or by appliances for the house and everyone who has helped with the remodeling so the family could move in. There's still a lot of work that needs to be done. The bathrooms both need to be fixed one bathroom is just put together temporary so they could shower. There's black mold in both the bathrooms and need to be finished. Someone had started to work on them but never finished. All they got was the tearing apart stuff done. So we r still looking for help on that end needing new tubs and shower surrounds, drywall, flooring and cabinets. I'm not a plumber and don't know how to do any of that. If anyone could help they would be truely greatful. Laurie and her family feel so blessed with everyone who has helped out so far and she's trying to write a thank you for each and everyone of you, but it's so hard to do as everything is so fresh yet and the tears still flow thinking about it and makes it harder for her to write. And from me personally I thank each and everyone for helping her out. There was no way we couldn't have helped Laurie and her family without all of your love and support. Thank you very much, words cannot express how much each and everyone who's helped one way or another mean to me. Thank you and God Bless you all. Laurie has also sent me pics of the receipts from the first stages to get the house move in ready. Including 3 brand new smoke detectors! If anyone wants to see them feel free to ask

Well day 2 and we have some work on our hands now. A friend of Laurie's was nice and gave her a trailer out on torun rd. It needs a little bit of work tho. Until we get the funds to get the work done it's not move in ready. It needs the floor boards fixed and needs new cabinets. She also is going to need appliances as well. I do have the measurements if anyone has any working appliances. She has a spot for a 18 cf fridge and has an opening for up to 32 inch for a range. Everything is electric. There's also a spot for a full size washer and dryer. The place is very large. And once it's fixed up will be a nice start for her and the kids. If anyone has anything they can donate or even offer services to help repair this place would be great. Otherwise I'm sure us girls can get started as well! Again thank you all for your help and all the donated items that have come in so far. And the family continues to thank each and every one of you for your support!

I was able to talk to Laurie tonight and she is safe and the kids as they were in school. They are all very shook up by this traumatic event. If anyone has any items to donate please feel free to message me or call me at 715-600-4230. The kids wear size 7 for the little girl and the boy wears a size 10. I will be sure to give them to her and the kids.

If you have donations for this family but don't know where to bring them, Lands' End in Stevens Point is holding a collection drive specifically for them. You can bring your donations there.
