Kevin's Final Wishes & Burial Fund

Donation protected
Hi Everyone,

My name is Kristine Barker, and I am a co-worker of Kevin Davidson at Sands Canada Inc.

As most of you may know, Kevin is 39 years old and has complained of stomach pain for about 2 years.  The doctor's told him it was due to an ulcer, or acid reflux, and gave him medication to treat that.  They were wrong.

The pain continued to get worse.  But Kevin got up and went to work every day, spent time with his beautiful family and put on a smile.  He has a fiancee, Crystal Perrin, and 5 children to support.  Jacob - age 17, Cole - age 15, Rylee - age 12, Lily - age 10, and Karlia -age 8.

Near the beginning of November, only two weeks ago, because the pain was so excruciating and his stomach was very swollen, Kevin went to seek help at the Cornwall Emergency Department.  They admitted him immediately.  After a week of tests including 4 CT scans, multiple x-rays and ultrasounds, an endoscopy, colonoscopy and a surgery to do a gastro biopsy, he was finally diagnosed with  a large floating cancerous tumour inside his abdominal cavity and what is believed to be at stage 4, aggressive and incurable.  This was a shock to everyone.

Kevin continues to suffer from acites, due to the metastatic cancer, which is a build up of fluid in his stomach and lungs.  He has had a chest tube put in to drain the excess fluid from his lungs and a drainage tube to drain the fluid that continues to build up in his abdomen.  He is awaiting results of the biopsy from Ottawa to find out where this cancer originated from and what kind it is.  He is struggling every day just to walk a short distance, and hug his family and friends.

In the meantime, his loving fiancee Crystal has been by his side almost every minute.  She sleeps in the cot next to him and holds his hand.  Obviously, they are both unable to work and have no income coming into the household.  They have no disability insurance plans to help them through this.  The bills are piling up, and this financial stress on top of the emotional devastation is almost too much to bear.

I am reaching out on behalf of Kevin and his family to try to help raise funds to reduce their financial stress and allow Crystal to stay at Kevin's side in his greatest time of need.  All funds will be directly transferred to Crystal's bank account to help them get through this difficult time.  I personally decided to try to help them with a fundraising campaign because I don't want them to have to deal with anything more than what they are already dealing with.

This is truly heartbreaking for everyone.  This shouldn't be happening.  All of your visits and kind thoughts are tremendously appreciated.  However, if you want to really help out and make a difference, please consider contributing to this fund.  Even the smallest amounts will add up and make a big difference to Kevin and his family.

If you have any questions, please feel free to email me at [email redacted].  You can also reach Crystal Perrin at [email redacted] but please keep in mind she is focused right now on Kevin and may not get back to you right away.

On behalf of Kevin and his family, we thank you, most sincerely, for your donations.
