Kevin Walsh’s Heart Transplant

On Sunday morning my mom received a phone call that her husband had a heart attack on his way home from a business trip. He was on an airplane at the time, they turned the plane around, landed in Texas where he was taken to the nearest hospital. From there he was transferred to Baylor in Dallas to receive a treatment called ECMO, with the goal of helping his organs heal. Kevin will be receiving an LVAD this week which is the first step towards getting him a completely new heart. Along with these unexpected medical bills, his wife has to commit to living in Dallas for at least 6 weeks while he is recovering. Her children, job, home and everything is back in Charleston. My family is flying from Colorado to S.C. so we can care for them while she is in Texas. She will be out of work for the next two months, while living out of state, and has a family to take care of on top of all of that. The medical bills do not end there. Kevin will be needing a lot of medical follow up after his LVAD leading up to his heart transplant. We are asking for your help to please donate if you can to help cover the medical bills as well as help offset bills while my mom and Kevin can not work.
