On Tuesday (2/4/2019) my boyfriend got in a severe motorbike accident where he was hit by a car. 
That night my boyfriend was rushed to into hospital where he undertook hours of scans all over his body, but mainly to his left leg that the doctors described as the worst possible injury a leg could face rather than having it ripped off completely. 
Wednsday (3/4/2019) he was then rushed into surgery at 8am to undertake an extremely difficult surgery to attempt to get blood flow back into his foot due to rapturing and tearing of an artery flowing from the back of his leg to the bottom of his toes.  At 10:50am the surgery was claimed to be unsuccessful and there was little blood flow to his foot to keep it alive.
at 11am he was rushed back into surgery were he undertook a 12 hr surgery to take an artery from his right arm and place it into his foot in order to get blood flow. 
At 10pm we received a call that the surgery was completed, and at that point claimed successful, stating that they have done their best to attempt to fix any nerve damaged caused during the accident as well as the injury as a whole. 
At 10pm he was placed into recovery which he stayed in over night.
thursday (4/4/2019) he was taken out of recovery where he was placed into his ward receiving constant monitoring and support, every hr a nurse comes in to ensure there is a pulse in his foot. 
My boyfriend’s mum is struggling at the moment financially due to a recent change of job as well as having to constantly pocket out money to support her 11 yr old daughter who only last year had a major liver transplant at westmead child’s hospital, where she took weeks to months off work in order to stay in the hospital to support her daughter. Due to the transplant my boyfriends mum has had to give up work constantly to rush her daughter into hospital, where if it wasn’t just a regular check up it was something that would lead to his mum spending more weeks at a time in the hospital. 
Not only does my boyfriends mum have to pay to have the surgery, but my boyfriend is unable to work for most of this year or so meaning he has no income, not only that my boyfriend will have to re-learn how to walk again through therapy as well as seek counseling due to trauma, my boyfriend will also require wheelchair access and therefore expenses will have to made.
