In May we found out that Kevin had a brain tumor. He had been battling numerous side effects for about a month. Fluid surrounding the tumor had caused side effects including migraines, vomiting and motor weakness. Doctors were able to perform surgery to drain the fluid to help alleviate some of the side effects and get a biopsy of the tumor. On May 30th, he was diagnosed with a grade 4 glioblastoma which is a type of brain tumor. This is one of the most aggressive forms of cancer due to its ability to grow and spread quickly. The surgery also initially made it difficult for Kevin to perform daily tasks. He has since been in a rehabilitation center to regain his strength before he starts treatment. The tumor is inoperable due to its location and requires an aggressive treatment plan. Kevin's strength, positivity and ability to light up a room through these difficult past few weeks is beyond admirable and we need help to assist in getting him the best possible treatment to fight this cancer.

Anyone who knows Kevin knows that he is one of the most giving, loving and funniest people to be around. He has a tremendous amount of love for his family, girlfriend, friends, and baseball. He spreads laughter with his ability to quote just about any movie or episode of "It's Always Sunny".

Funds raised from this page will help with bills, treatment, and living opportunities to help him be as comfortable as possible. Thank you in advance for your donations, support, and prayers.

Thank you so much for your support, thoughts and prayers for over the past year. Just a quick update on Kevin. His scans have remained stable while participating in a clinical trial and having biweekly transfusions. He remains positive, hopeful and determined. We are planning to participate in the Head for the Cure walk at Edgewater Beach in Cleveland on October 6th. We would love to see you there! Please join our team, “Team Schindler” as a virtual member or come walk with us! Follow the link below to join our team. We also have a team T-shirt for purchase. (No need to participate in the walk to purchase a shirt.) Proceeds will go towards brain cancer research, one of the most underfunded cancer researches. Both links are below. Thank you again for your continued support as we come together to support Kevin during this battle.

Kevin and his family wish you all the happiest of holidays! Thank you for your continued thoughts and prayers. As of the end of December, Kevin has completed five rounds of chemotherapy with limited success. He is starting a new chemotherapy treatment and clinical trial this week with high hopes. Kevin has continued to have a positive spirit and is hopeful in his fight. He is continuously thankful for the support of family and friends he receives.

Kevin is two scans out from his six week chemo and radiation therapy he completed this summer. At this point, he is now completing another round of chemotherapy to fight the cancer.
Last weekend we were able to participate in a 5k for Head for the Cure. It was great to see everyone rally together to support brain cancer research. “Team Schindler” raised almost $5,000!
Kevin's motto everyday has been "Today is a good day for a good day." At the 5K, he was recognized with a Keeping the Faith award. This is awarded to those survivors or fighters for keeping the faith during their battle. It was awesome to see Kevin's motto all around the 5K and to spread his message with others.
Thank you for your continued positive thoughts and prayers.

Thank you.

I am incredibly honored, humbled, and thankful for all of those who have donated or shared the gofundme page. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Words cannot express how much it means to me!

As you may know, the trip to Oklahoma was successful as the surgeon was able to remove 97% of the tumor. Since coming back to Ohio, I have started the standard of care chemotherapy and radiation treatments. I was recently discharged from an acute rehab facility focusing on physical, occupational, and speech therapy and am back home half way through treatments.

Thank you again, everything from the gofundme has made the fight a little easier! I continue to take things day by day and fight the battle that has presented itself. Thank you for the continued love and support.

Kevin
