Kerala(India) Floods-Relief Fund

This gofundme campaign is to donate to Chief Ministers (governor's) distress relief fund in Kerala, India.

Kerala the southern most state of India is experiencing the worst flood in last 90 years. Heavy rain has been devastating the entire state including my village and hometown. My Family is safe so far, but many of my friends and tens of thousands of other families are homeless and are in relief camps across the state. When I reached out to families and friends what all they need is help and prayers. This is the least I can do far away from home.

Government and people are doing everything they can to rescue people and get them to safety.

• All the 44 rivers in Kerala are overflowing at present
• 33 water reservoirs in Kerala have opened their floodgates after incessant rain in catchment areas
• Death toll reaches 114, more than 150,000 homeless
• Southern Railway and Kochi Metro have suspended their operations. 
• Red alert in all 14 districts in Kerala
• Railway traffic affected in the state
• One of three major airports in the state, Cochin International Airport shut down till August 26
• Holiday declared for all educational institutions in Kerala; exams cancelled
• State government cancelled Onam celebrations
