Kerala is in the midst of an unprecedented flood havoc. The calamity has caused immeasurable misery and devastation. Many lives were lost. Hundreds of homes were totally destroyed and many more were damaged. For the first time in history, 27 dams in the State had to be opened. Never before had the State witnessed a calamity of this scale. In the fight against the flood, we have braved the odds.
Now it is our duty to help the affected rebuild their lives. The path to recovery can be long & arduous, but you can make a difference by joining the rebuilding efforts
This campaign is created for ASEL friends to help the needy in Kerala.

As we are getting close to the end of this campaign I would like to document the below details
As you all might know I am Jis, Puthussery Jose, a member of ASEL since the beginning. I am also from Kerala, India where the floods had devastating effects.
I have set up withdrawal account and will be withdrawing funds collected so far in the coming days
How will collected donations be used?
As our other members are working to collect information about volunteers who are working on the ground and their needs. At this point in time our general plan to spend the fund in one or more of the ways listed below. All spending updates will be communicated to donors via go fund me platform / other means if applicable
1. Identify one or more poor families from most affected areas and use this fund help them to rebuild /recover from the devastating effects of the flood/ help them come back to life.
2.Transfer some or all of the money to Govt's distress fund ( https://donation.cmdrf.kerala.gov.in)
3. Use this fund ( partial /full ) to buy basic necessities ( e.g life starter kits that include groceries, medicines and other basic things ) for people who come back to flooded home to restart their life.
