Kerala floods disaster fund

Kerala is a beautiful state of 33.4million people nestled in the south-western corner of India. The annual monsoon rain makes landfall in this lush green state and proceeds up north. But this year, she is facing the heaviest of rains and the consequent floods and destruction has been unparalleled since 1924. The State estimates this flood has caused damages of around £ 900 million and is bound to go up as the days go by. The official death toll is 370 and rising. Millions of people are being affected by these floods and thousands of families have been displaced and forced to seek shelter in temporary camps which could be their homes for the immediate foreseeable future. Kerala is now facing a crisis of epic proportions.
 
The images and videos coming out of communities stranded with no water, food or electricity looking after the old, young and animals are heart wrenching. We have set up this funding to give directly to the  Chief Minister's Distress Relief Fund ( Government of Kerala State, India) and charities helping out people during this crisis.
