Kennady’s Maryland Zoo Bench

Kennady Rose Chamberlain passed away on February 21,2018 at just 2 years old from a childhood cancer called Neuroblastoma. Her favorite places to visit during treatment were anywhere there were animals. We spent many days at the zoo, aquarium, and even the local SPCA’s to put a smile on her face. She also always kept her (stuffed) animal babies by her side at all times no matter where she was or where she was going.
We’ve thought long and hard about how we would like to honor her and her legacy on her one year ”angelversary” and what better way than at one of her favorite places, the Maryland Zoo! The Maryland Zoo offers commemorative benches that are newly placed in the location of our choosing and will have a plaque with her name and a few words to represent her on it.

Our goal is to raise the money for the bench and pick a final destination we would like it placed. Our desire for placement is currently on the Lions (cat cat ) exhibit but since it is currently under major construction we have to wait for the okay from architects. I will most definitely keep everyone updated as we go back and forth with the director but either way we are wanting to have the bench placed at one of her favorite locations in the Zoo.
One thing we love is that not only us, but everyone will be able to visit her bench and know they contributed to keeping Kennadys honor and name alive! Thank you, we really appreciate everyone who continues to support us and Team Kenna!
