Update on Kendra and her Cancer. Kendra is a teacher in the Mountain Brook School System. She is married with a six year old son and they live in Vestavia Hills. Kendra was diagnosed last January with stage 2 Triple Negative Breast Cancer. She had to take a leave from work for six months and undergo chemotherapy. The therapy responded well and she was able to undergo surgery August 1, 2016. The double mastectomy was successful and she was able to return back to work. Radiation was the next step in her treatment plan. She was able to work and undergo radiation every day for 28 days. Things seemed to be going great. She had to undergo a routine PET scan on January 4, 2017. The Cancer had returned and this time in the lymph nodes on the right side. Due to the quick return of the cancer and the change of original site the cancer is now stage 4. Kendra has been accepted into a clinical trial at MD Anderson in Houston, Texas. She is going to try and continue to work throughout her treatments.She will be traveling back and forth to Houston on a monthly basis.I am asking that each of you please consider donating to this sweet family so they can focus on getting Kendra better and so they do not have to worry about how they will make it to Houston each month and still maintain their house hold. As many of you know,stress alone can delay any type of healing. Kendra needs to be healthy in mind,spirit and body during this trying time.Please spread the word and ask others to help this lovely family during this trying time?
