Ken Giblin's Liver Transplant

Donation protected
>Hello, my name is Ken Giblin and I am a Professional Certified Home Inspector with over 35 years under my belt and I also now have a “new liver” under that same belt. My brother & his wife had set this GoFundMe page up to help me out during my recovery time but it became too much for them so now it’s been handed to me. So, I’m just going to share my story with you and I hope you have a nice day. I started my career in Construction back in 1980. I opened my own Construction Company in 1982 called K.M.G. Construction which lasted for 18 years. I built Decks, Fences, Sheds, Full Homes, Beauty Salons, etc. I also constructed many Home Remodels of all levels for Residential Residents, Police Dept.’s., Commercial Business and more. I closed my Construction Company in 1999 when I had the opportunity to learn about becoming a Home Inspector from another Home Inspection Company. I have now owned my own Home Inspection Company which is, Eagle Eye Inspections, since 2006. I LOVE my job, I love educating people about homes they are interested in buying or selling. I was the President of the Oregon Assoc. of Home Inspectors from 2006-2009 and I was on their Board of Directors from 2002-2010. I trained many Home Inspectors in the area but now-a-days I help teach, "First Time Home Buying Classes” to the public through my volunteering with non-profit organizations. Like I said, I LOVE my job and I love educating people.

Unfortunately, my job is on hold for quite a while now. My liver was toast, I needed a liver transplant, the GREAT news is I GOT ONE on May 11th, 2017. My liver was ready for the trash can years ago according to the doctors so I feel very blessed to have this second chance in life, to keep living on with my new liver. Now maybe I will get to see my grandkids hit a home run at their baseball games or watch my daughter-in-law get that nursing degree or see my oldest grandson graduate from college & get married. I do have quite a few grandkids to watch grow up and I’m happy to be able to do so now, thanks to my donor.

The most difficult part of this whole ordeal is the time it takes to heal for this new liver I have. I’ve been told I can be out of work for 6 months to a year or more in some cases. That is why there is this GoFundMe page. No one can survive very long without working for months and having no income. I have a small amount saved up for my retirement which is no longer for retirement now but it’s not enough money to get me through that many months of no work. So here I am, asking for donations to get through until I can get back to what I love doing, Home Inspections. Plus, I miss all my Agents and I’m bored so I will come back as soon as possible. No extra days off here for this guy, I’m coming back the second the doctor gives me the green light. I really appreciate everyone who has or can contribute. Thank you and I hope everyone has a happy life and a wonderful day.

I want to thank my brother David & sis-in-law, Val Giblin for getting this page started for me. I appreciate you both very much. Love you both.
