Kelly's fight to win

$9,775 of $10,000 goal

Raised by 108 people in 11 months
On April 25th, 2018 , my twin sister Kelly was diagnosed with stage 3 inflammatory  breast cancer.  At 37 weeks pregnant, this was also the day she gave birth to her youngest son Emir.  The following week began her journey of testing, appointments and numerous consultations before starting a 4 month chemotherapy regimen.   She has faced this battle head on and shown everyone who loves her the true definition of positivity, courage and strength.  She always puts others first and her role as mom has remained her priority.
Kelly will start the next phase of this journey at the inflammatory breast cancer center at MD Anderson hospital in Houston, Texas.  She will be flying to Houston for surgery and then returning to Houston for 6 weeks of radiation, all while remaining a busy mom to 4 young boys back in Rhode Island!  Kelly was one month short of qualifying for long term disability through her job and as anyone can imagine this journey has been very expensive.  Many people have reached out over the past several months to see what they can do to help, so I wanted to provide a place for people to donate to help Kelly fight this battle!

Thank you, thank you!! I can’t tell you how appreciative Kelly is and how much this will help her in the upcoming months. Kelly continues to heal and the plan is for her to return to Houston next week for follow up visits and then again in October to begin her six week radiation schedule- all while continuing with her duties as a mom! She is amazing and we want to create a stress free environment for her. Your donations help to cover the cost of her treatments and medical bills and will help give her peace of mind in the upcoming months. Please continue to share her story with friends and family and continue your prayers of healing and recovery. Your kindness is so appreciated!!
