Hi Friends, family and fans of Miss Kelly Boyle!
Kelly could use our help. Since I know there are so many people that care about her, I thought a GoFundMe page was a good place to start.
Many of you may know Kelly has been dealing with health issues over the past several years. In 2015, she was diagnosed with kidney failure and started dialysis 3-4 days per week – if you’ve ever known anyone that had to go through this, you know it can be exhausting and takes a toll on the body. Kelly has worked very hard most of her life working full-time and then after work making her way to clubs, bars and private occasions to entertain many of us with her band OneLove. But with her health challenges, she could no longer work her full-time job and had to cut down on the number of her performances. I wanted to help her then and had offered to create a GoFundMe page at that time, but she said she didn’t need the money.
Recently, her situation has become more serious. Three weeks ago, Kelly was hospitalized due to complications from diabetes. She developed an infection on her toe, which quickly spread and had to be contained by removing two toes and a small part of her foot. In an effort to save the rest of her foot, she also had 2 very painful vascular surgeries on her leg, and it is very likely she will be having more toe and partial foot amputations.
When she is finally released from the hospital, she will have to go through rehab to learn how to walk again and regain her strength – she does not know how long this will take. One of the biggest obstacles for Kelly will be when she gets home. She lives in a two-story house where the only bathroom is on the top floor, so it’s important for her to be able to get up and down the stairs. Her best option to ensure her safety and allow her to move around the house independently, is to have a stairlift installed - an expensive piece of medical equipment that costs thousands of dollars but isn’t covered by her insurance.
I had to talk Kelly in to letting me do this – I’m asking everyone that knows and loves her to contribute to the cost of the stairlift. Anything you could give would be greatly appreciated.
