Kelli Strong

In November 2017 Kelli was going in for a women’s routine check up. To her surprise, tests came back abnormal. Doctors had found a questionable mass in her cervix. After many blood tests and exams, Kelli was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Sarcoma. This is a rare aggressive form of leukemia that presents as a tumor. Since her diagnosis, Kelli has been admitted to Baylor Hospital in Dallas Texas, where doctors and nurses have been working non-stop to fight this cancer.

Kelli has spent many weeks including the holiday season in the hospital. This disease has surely taken its toll on her body. She is in need of a bone marrow transplant once her cancer is in remission. Unfortunately, after many rounds of chemotherapy her diagnosis has been resistant to treatment and remains 68% in her bone marrow. She has also since had a hysterectomy to remove the tumor on her cervix. What we initially thought would be a short journey, is now going to take a little longer than expected.

Kelli now continues her battle 300 miles away from home in Houston Texas at MD Anderson Cancer center. Extensive testing has begun which include 25 vials of blood taken, CT scan, Xrays, echocardiogram, and yet another bone marrow biopsy, Along with another PetScan to make sure the cancer has not spread. Once results come back from these tests they will determine the best treatment for her.

But Kelli is so much more than this. She is a wife, a mother to her sweet kids Caitlin (10) and Easton (7). She is a daughter, a sister, she is strong willed, positive minded, kind hearted, and definitely a fighter.  She has so much life to give. Though her faith remains strong, she is continuously being challenged in this journey with every set back. All she wants is to get back to her healthy self so she can be there for her kids and husband.

For this young family, illnesses such as this tend to be a lot more trying and expensive than just medical expenses. Ryan and Kelli will now have to be traveling back and forth from Houston to Dallas. This fund will hopefully help ease some of the stress and financial burden that comes ahead.

Kelli has had the best support system during this journey from all her amazing family and friends. We are so thankful for every single one of you.

Due to the extended circumstances we are asking for any contributions to help this young family during their battle to kick this cancers ASS!!!
