Keira’s fundraiser for burn survivors

Hi, my name is Keira. I am raising money for burn survivors because I have survived a burn myself. Burn camp is a blast, so I want other kids who have had the unfortunate circumstance of having been burned to be able to experience camp.

Being burned means you miss out on everything for the first six months at least, I missed out on fun activities like running, sports, gym, I had to stop horseback riding, I couldn’t go to my friends birthday parties, swimming, skating, my school play, I missed 40 days of school, (and still do because of hospital trips). I am lucky I only have to have (maybe) one surgery, some of the friends I met at camp have had to have 27 or more surgeries. So camp is really important for us because the camp counsellors are all medical staff and they are specially trained to help kids like us who have special requirements. 

Did you know that all the firefighters, paramedics, nurses, doctors, social workers and all the other people involved to help out send kids to camp volunteer their time? 

I would really like to raise $1000 to donate to the kids!

I donated half of my birthday money and my mom said she would match my birthday money so sofar I have 170 of my goal. Would you please consider helping me?

Thank you everyone for reaching my first goal of 1000.  I have changed my target to 2900 so I can fund at least one child to go to camp. 

When end I first started I told my mom I wanted to raise one million dollars so I could make the burn fund “rich” so they could always have money for kids for camp.
