Keira's Dog Surgery To Remove Tumor

Nine years ago Jeremy and I got married and became a blended family with three high-spirited kids. However our family wasn’t complete until we were blessed with the love of a special little Shih-Tzu Maltese puppy named Keira.
When we adopted Keira, she was a tiny ball of white fluff that could fit in the palm of your hand. Over the years Keira has grown to be 6.5lbs and has gained the full name of Keira Jane Lipsey.
Even though she endures silly nicknames about her size, like “Lil Bit” and “Baby Girl” she has given us more love and bonded our family in ways that no one would have ever imagined. When Keira is excited to see you, she will roll onto her back or sit up like a human and offer you to pet her tummy. We call this “tummy rubbins”.
This past weekend while giving “tummy rubbins”, my husband noticed a lump that was never there before. Unfortunately, today we learned that Keira has a Tumor in her Mammary gland. The Vet did a needle aspirate
on the tumor and we learned that the cells are growing at a rapid pace and could be cancerous. Our only option is to remove the tumor and surrounding tissue in hopes that Keira will make a full recovery.
As many of you know, I am currently between jobs, so the extra $1,000 that is needed for Keira’s surgery isn’t readily available to us. With my unemployment status, we don’t qualify for Care Credit that is offered through our Vet.
We wouldn’t have ever asked for help in the past but we can’t imagine loosing Keira at this point in her life. Ideally, she should have many more years with us. On a selfish note, our family is facing a lot of change and challenges right now and we can’t imagine not having Keira by our side.
Please help us take care of “Baby Girl”. Anything will make a difference.
