Help bring the Keg Grove name back to Bloomington! We will devote all funds raised in this campaign to making our taproom as community friendly and fun as possible.

Mission: Keg Grove Brewing Company is a community centered brewery, dedicated to crafting beer for everyone.

Community first, Beer first... We have had a few people say to us that this slogan sounds confusing. Well, that makes sense, it’s an oxymoron. More importantly though, it is what we believe in and it drives our passion to create delicious craft beer for everyone in our community.

Community first… Bloomington/Normal is an important place to all of us at Keg Grove Brewing Company. It is where we live, it is where we work, it is where we want to create a business, and most importantly it is where we have all decided to raise our families. The Bloomington/Normal area has a lot to offer, and we want to bring one more exciting element to this community. We want to provide our community with a quality product and experience, all while giving back to the community we love. We love our community so much, that it is in our name!

According to the McLean County Historical Society, Keg Grove was the original name for the Bloomington/Normal area. Legend has it that back in the day, some trappers were passing through the area and they stashed a keg someplace in the grove. What was in the keg? No one knows for sure. Most infer that it was whiskey or rum, but we like to believe that is was full of a tasty American made ale. According to legend, after the keg was stashed, some Kickapoo Indians came across it and they were very curious. Who can blame them? We would have been curious and sampled it ourselves! Once they realized what was inside, they had a nice celebration enjoying the keg’s contents. From that moment forward, the area was referred to as Keg Grove. As time passed and pioneers settled, they renamed this area Blooming Grove, then finally the current name of Bloomington. We want to recognize our area’s history, and bring Keg Grove back to Bloomington!

Beer First… Keg Grove Brewing Company will bring consistently flavorful beer to our community. We believe in pushing the traditional barriers of brewing while providing gentle, palatable varieties. These varieties allow traditional beer consumers to take a small step into the world of craft beer, and can offer the seasoned craft beer drinker an opportunity to enjoy more than one or two beers of a certain variety in one sitting. We place great importance in creating a quality product for our community, while using quality ingredients. Living in Central Illinois, we can see cornfields for miles. In honor of  our surroundings, we make corn an integral part of every beer we make. We value using local crops and will seek out local ingredients to use in our beers. We believe that there is nothing like a good beer to bring community members together in unity! Cheers, let’s enjoy this journey together!

In addition to the reward items for each donation level, the names of all contributors will be immortalized in the taproom. All campaign awards will be distributed at the end of the campaign.
