Hello Everyone!
My name is Zeus and I am a 5 year old American Bulldog Staffordshire Terrier mix. My parents are Richie and Alana. My favorite past time is playing tug of war, walks, hiking, car rides, and spending all my time with my humans or any human for that matter. I like to be very active and my parents recently noticed I was limping and brought me to the vet. Two vet visits and an xray later, we found out that I inherited some bad genes and have a partial tear in my ligament of my right knee requiring surgery. We also learned the same thing will happen to my left knee as well and it's just a matter of time before I will need surgery for this leg too. However, the good news is that once I have the surgery, I will be able to recover 100% and be back to my routine.
The surgery I am having is called a tibial plateau leveling osteotomy or a TPLO and will cost $4500 for my right knee. Additionally, I need to have follow up xrays, medications, etc. that will cost $500. I could also need physical therapy (PT) so if my parents are able to raise more than the cost of the surgery, my parents would use the money for PT.
My parents love me very much and want to do what is best for me, but my mom is finishing school and my dad just graduated so finances are tight.
