Keep Cordley Lake Clean
Donation protected
The Cordley Lake Association is sponsoring a community-based project to enhance natural shorelines and prevent soil erosion. This project will occur at Varsity Day Camp on Cordley Lake, and there will be numerous benefits to both those who enjoy Cordley Lake recreationally as well as the broader watershed, including:
· Protect Cordley Lake from herbicides, pesticides and other chemicals in runoff water (cleaner fish, healthier ecosystem, etc.)
· Educate youth at Varsity Day Camp regarding smart environmentally healthy practices to protect their lake environments (many of the kids who come to Varsity live on nearby lakes themselves)
· Provide a model for Cordley Lake residents, as well as residents on other surrounding lakes which shows how a natural shoreline can be attractive, stabilize the shoreline, help wildlife, and protect the water.
· Learn by implementing best practices we’ve been learning and recording. Growth and progress will be published via a photo library on www.cordleylake.com which will be consistently updated over the next five years.
