Kirsten's Cambodia Fund

I am raising money in the hopes of accomplishing a lifelong goal - traveling overseas to help impoverished children. 

I teach French in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. I love my job and am very fortunate to live the life I do. I have always been interested in helping others...hence why I became a teacher. I think I inherited this from my Gram. She was always volunteering her time and donating whatever she could.

Since her passing, I have continued to give back to my community, both locally and globally. My students and I take part in Free the Children campaigns and attend We day each year. Seeing my students engaged in social justice issues has increased my desire and passion to help others. 

This summer I will be traveling to Cambodia to work with orphan children around the country. Most of my time will be spent at Place of Rescue (http://www.placeofrescue.com/overview/) , an orphanage in Pailin. I will be teaching English and running sport/art activities for the children.
