Crochet for College Tuition

Last Friday I posted this picture of my Corner to Corner Throw on the Crochet Crowd Community on Facebook. To my surprise my phone began to blow up. Within 6 hours, the picture had 7K likes, shared 300+ times and over 1K comments, mostly requests for the pattern. Last I looked it was 13K+ likes and requests still keep coming for the pattern.
My husband said if everyone just paid a few dollars as many had offered we could put that towards our youngest daughter Bailey's college tuition for fall of 2015. An idea was born... What if I put the pattern on Go Fund Me and see how much we can raise?
My daughter Bailey and I both suffer with the same autoimmune disease Ankylosing Spondylitis. Her college saving was spent paying for biologics, surgeries and medical bills for us both. I have been praying for God to provide a way in which we can make her dream of attending UC Santa Cruz a reality. At $35000 a year her 4 years will cost what we paid for our first home.
I was forced to retire from a career I loved in 2010. I have spent several years trying to figure out what I can do that would still contribute to society in any way. After 10 back surgeries my mobility has been significantly reduced. My x-rays look like I have fallen in a hardware store. My spine is fused at 5 levels, my SI Joints are screwed tight and I now have a neurostimulator that helps to manage the pain. However, my crochet hook has helped maintain my sanity!
I crochet for charities, friends and family. I tend to pull out more stitches than stay when I am in design mode. This piece is my favorite by far. I have created a PDF with pictures if you click the link below it wil open in Google Docs. If you would like to make a donation, any amount would be greatly appreciated. Please contact me if you have any questions. I will try my best to respond.
